Overview Now that your company looks professional, it's time to make sure you get paid. In this module, we will set up the "Rules of Engagement" for when agents pay you, configure sales tax, and connect your bank account via Titus (our recommended processor).
Step 1: Set Your Payment Terms (The Paywall) π
This is the most important setting for your cash flow. You need to decide when an agent pays you.
Go to Settings - Invoicing - General in the left-hand menu.
Find Default Agent Payment Plan.
Select Pay Before Download (Recommended).
β Why Pay Before Download? This is the industry standard. It allows agents to view the watermarked photos immediately, but they cannot download the high-resolution files until the invoice is paid. This automates your collections so you never have to chase checks!
Other Options:
Pay Before Order Submission: Agent must pay immediately to even submit the booking.
Weekly/Monthly Invoice: Good for large brokerages with net-30 terms.
Step 2: Configure Sales Tax ποΈ
If your state requires you to collect sales tax on digital goods or services, set it up here.
Scroll down to the Sales Tax section.
Click + Tax Region.
Name: Give it a clear name (e.g., "Ohio Sales Tax").
Region: Type your state (e.g., "Ohio") and select it from the list.
Rate: Enter your percentage (e.g., 7%).
Turn it On: Make sure the toggle is active and click the Plus (+) icon to save.
Step 3: Connect Your Payment Processor (Titus) π³
You need a gateway to accept credit cards. While Spiro supports Stripe and Square, we strongly recommend using Titus.
Why Titus?
πΈ Cheaper Fees: You pay 2.69% (Titus) vs 2.99% (Stripe/Square). You keep more of your money.
β‘ Faster Payouts: Titus pays out in 1 business day (vs 3-4 days for others).
π‘ Pay at Close: This exclusive feature allows agents to defer payment until the home sells, but you get paid immediately. It's a huge competitive advantage for your marketing.
π° Tipping: Titus is the only processor that allows agents to add a Tip at checkout.
How to Connect:
Navigate to Shopping Cart > Payment Gateway.
Click Accept Payments via Titus
Follow the secure prompts to link your bank account.
Note: If you absolutely must use Stripe or Square, links to those integration guides are below:
